The City of Birmingham has begun the process to develop the City’s “Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice” that will be used to inform the City’s 2020-2025 Five-Year Consolidated Plan for the CDBG, ESG, HOME, and HOPWA Programs, to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in May 2020. Input from the citizens of Birmingham is vital to the development of the Analysis of Impediments and the Consolidated Plan. As such, the City is conducting an online Community Needs Survey that will be used to collect data and other information on the status of fair housing issues in Birmingham.  The collected data and other information from this survey will be included as part of the process for developing the final Analysis of Impediments.

Links to this online Community Needs Survey are contained herein below.  Please use the link to complete the Community Needs Survey at your earliest opportunity.  Also, the Community Development staff is requesting that you forward the survey links to other interested individuals and groups in Birmingham so that they may also have the opportunity to participate in this fair housing data collection endeavor.
